The set-up and performance of your next wheelchair have a hugely positive impact on your day-to-day life, but… let's be honest, getting your hands on a lightweight wheelchair tailored to your needs can be pretty expensive. Our approach is always about finding the best solution for you first AND making this solution a reality by drafting a realistic financial plan of attack next.
GRX Life not only helps you make an informed decision when choosing your next wheelchair, but can also point you in the right direction when it comes to exploring any third-party funding options. The most commonly used routes are as follows:
NHS Voucher Scheme
Most NHS Wheelchair Services can provide a financial contribution towards the cost of your new chair. The level of financial support available depends on how you fit within your local eligibility criteria.
Access to Work
If you are in employment and consider your wheelchair a vital tool to fulfil your job role then Access to Work may be able to help. Access to Work are part of Disability, Works and Pensions. However, they will require a contribution to be made by your employer in most cases.
Charitable Organisations
A number of charitable organisations are able to help fund mobility equipment. As you can imagine they all have their own unique criteria and therefore our advice will differ depending on your personal circumstances.
